LYNDA WAS ALWAYS ONLINE CHATTING AND MAKING FRIENDS AND RELATING WITH HER FIANCEE’S COUNTRY MEN, MOSTLY ON THE INTERNET,AND WHEN SHE TOLD HIM, HE SAID HE DOES NOT LIKE THAT IDEA OF CHATTING WITH STRANGERS ON THE NET THAT SHE SHOULD BE CAREFUL,BUT SHE REFUSED TO LISTEN AND CONTINUED ANYWAYS,BUT UNFORTUNATELY SOME TERRIBLE CHAOS HAPPENED, AFTER A LITTLE WHILE.

SHE MET THIS CHATTING FRIEND ONLINE AND THEY HAVE BEEN DISCUSSING FOR A WHILE AND HE KEEPS ASKING FOR MONEY AND SHE WILL SAY SHE HAS NO CASH AND HE WILL LAY LOW BECAUSE OF HIS SPECIAL MISSION, WHICH WAS TO DEFRAUD HER AND HE HAS TO BUILD HER TRUST IN HIM,BUT SHE WAS BLIND TO THE LIGHT,BASED ON THE FACT THAT SHE HAS DEVELOPED TRUST IN THE SO CALLED FRIEND AND THEY HAVE TALKED FOR A LONG TIME AND THE FRIEND PULLED A LONG ONE ON HER,BUT LITTLE DID SHE KNOW THAT IT WAS A HOOK.

AFTER A LOT OF TRIAL TO GET PHYSICAL CASH FROM HER WHICH PROVED ABORTIVE, HE SAW HER ONLINE ONE DAY AND SAID COULD YOU DO ME A FAVOUR,AND SHE SAID SURE AS LONG AS YOU ARE NOT ASKING CASH FROM ME AND HE SAID SURE ,I HAVE A BUSINESS TRANSACTION IN YOUR COUNTRY,COULD YOU PLEASE HELP ME TO CASH THIS CHEQUE? ,FOR THE FACT THAT ITS YOUR COUNTRY AND I WILL ASK YOU TO TAKE SOME PERCENTAGE FROM THE CASH WHEN YOU GET IT AND SHE HONESTLY ACCEPTED TO HELP HIM AS A FRIEND AND ALSO FOR THE FACT THAT SHE BELIEVED, SHE WAS GETTING COMMISSION IN CASH FOR HELPING, SO SHE GOT INVOLVED.

THE BANK KNOWING HER FOR WHOM SHE IS, PAID HER WITHOUT ANY DOUBT , BUT AFTER SOME WEEKS THE CHEQUE COULD NOT CLEAR AND THE BANK DISCOVERED THAT IT WAS A FRAUD CHEQUE AND CALLED HER AND ASK FOR REFUND OF CASH WHICH AUTOMATICALLY INDICATES, THAT ONE NEEDS TO BE CAREFUL WITH THE KIND OF FRIENDS WE MAKE AND WHOM WE RELATE WITH OR TALK TO ONLINE, ESPECIALLY FRIENDS WE DONT REALLY KNOW.WHAT DO YOU THINK?

A YEAR FULL OF MEMORIES

Thinking about the yultide season has not been promoted by weather in the 40;s nor by the absence of last years snow cover of eight inches.I need only to remember Christmases past as a child when i was frustrated because i couldn’t ride my brand new tricycle in the snow.I guess riding a sled wasn’t a bad second best.

The “Bells are ringing” for Alice this year. Her long-gone senses of taste and smell have returned just in time for the Fraser fir tree in the living room and for the baking Christmas goodies.as you may remember ,for years she has consulted with people who look to her for guidance in an effort to augment what they choose to do in dealing with various maladies.This was a case where she had to wave the white flag of surrender and see a real,live doctor.Leaving aside the clinical details,her sinuses were about as bad as can be(no cavities), but now the worst has been overcome.

The high point of our summer was a three-week stint during which Laura was here from phoenix with two of her boys,Orion(10) and Wesley(8).The boys and i went fishing, hitting golf balls,swimming,exploring,and best of all spent several days in the Dells. “WooW Grandpa! look at all that water!” They tried to find out just how well one could become on a water slide(s).Do you know how difficult it to pick out two bobbing heads among hundreds of other bobbing heads? shortly after they returned to phoenix, they resumed classes at their Montessori school for which we are ever so grateful as an opportunity for them.we are not sure if it means more for them.

As i have done at least once in the past,I have again chosen to forego my annual political/economic diatribe.None of it would be in keeping with the spirit of the season, i assure you.ask for my e-mail address if you want to be turned to “channel Bob.” as we look to the beginning of yet another year,we bring this one to a close .Naturally it went better for some than others.

It’s one thing to express the wish,as we do for you,that yours will be truly a merry christmas and a healthy and happy new year,but its another to actually make a difference in the character,the joy of christmas for others. Fortunately,there are thousands of ways and stories of those in the spirit of christmas as it relates to giving,the very antithesis of Scrooges. one such person was a very anonymous woman who walked into a store offering customers the reprise of the time-honored,”Lay-a-way”plan where one selects a gift(s) and makes regular , periodic payments in an effort to pay for and secure the item in time to give.sometimes ,the best laid plans of christmas mice and men go awry, and the payments cannot be made on time in which case santa’s bag will be light if not empty. This woman stepped up to the counter, “Joe Six Pack”, dressed for rough work (or rough tough times) was to make a payment. It is not clear if he was there to make a payment for the balance or just an installment. Not to worry! She paid it off. He was dumb-struck, and who wouldn’t be, She did this for dozens more at the store, explaining that her husband just died, her husband,”Bud”,and this is what he would have wanted.

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL

Although this two sports are different from each other, they have lots of similarities which is very appealing,I was always used to the football(soccer)but the first time i watched softball and baseball live, I fell in love with both sports thereby making me curious about what Differences and Similarities there is in both sports.If you think about ball games, baseball and softball are among the most popular ball games that you may have in mind.

A comparison between softball and baseball can simply be made as softball is directly descended from baseball and therefore, it contain’s some important similarities.Despite the game’s name, the standard softball is not soft; in fact, it is harder than a baseball.

Baseball is the game played by two teams using a ball and bat. Each team consists of 9 players. To score, the thrown ball will be hit using a bat. Your teammate needs to touch sequence of 4 bases positioned at the sides of a diamond or 90 foot square. Softball however, is also a team sport, which is considered as a direct descendant of baseball. However, softballs are larger than baseballs and pitches thrown underhand instead of overhand.

Playing Field differs in size in some area. Below are some of its differences on the following positions:

Infield – in Softball is the area of a field in equal territory that includes a section that is usually covered by infielder. In baseball infield is located in the dirt surface area. The infield is the square known as the diamond, that has 4 white bases and located on each corner.

Outfield – in Softball it is the area of a field away from the infield or diamond. The fielder and beyond the batsman occupy this space. The outfield in baseball is usually covered with grass. Each base is 5-sided rubber slab known as home plate. In the normal baseball field each base are 90 feet (27.4 meters) apart.

Foul Lines – in softball the 1st and 3rd base line, which distinguishes equal territory from four territories called foul lines. In baseball, the foul pole is intended to aid umpire judge in deciding whether the fly ball which hit the fence border above is fair or foul. The foul lines are vertical extension poles.

Fair Territory – in softball, it is the area within the playing fields and include the 1st and 3rd base foul lines starting in home plate beyond playing field fences which are perpendicularly upward. In baseball, the fair territory includes the ground between the two long white lines. It is either confusing or amusing that the lines are officially called the foul lines and poles called foul poles.

Batter Box – in softball, it is the box marked with chalk close to home plate, which the batter should stay within while battling. In baseball, it is drawn in white chalk, it is the area surrounding the home plate where the batter stands. It should be 6 foot rectangles and must be six inches away from the home plate.

Bases – in softball, home plates are bases in every corner within the diamond . Each base are canvas of fifteen inches square of the same material, and should not be more than five inches thick. Each base is tagged counter-clockwise as 1st, 2nd and 3rd base.

Foul Poles – in softball and baseball, Located at the end of every foul line to differentiate foul territory from fair territory.

Pitcher’s Mound – at the center of the diamond it is the area from where the pitcher throws the ball.

Softball and Baseball are popular ball games by ball enthusiasts worldwide. Even children enjoy playing the game because of the satisfaction that they get from it. There are some differences in the playing field, but the idea of sportsmanship and teamwork is the main attraction in playing these games. There is no competition between the two ball games. These two games are somehow related to each other.

WHAT MAKES YOU NERVOUS? AND HOW DO YOU HANDLE IT?

NERVOUSNESS ARISES AS A RESULT OF MANY THINGS,BUT IT IS SOMEHOW COMPLICATING LOOKING UP WHAT COULD BE THE CAUSE OF NERVOUSNESS,THE QUESTION IS COULD IT BE FEAR,REALITY OR UNCERTAINTY? ESPECIALLY WHAT YOU DONT KNOW MAKES YOU NERVOUS.

THE CELLS THAT MAKE UP THE NERVOUS SYSTEM ARE CALLED NEURONS(A CELL, OR NERVE CELL),LONG,STRINGY NEURONS ARE PERFECT FOR CARRYING THE ELECTRICAL MESSAGES THAT ARE THE “LANGUAGE” OF THE NERVOUS SYSTEM.

UNHAPPINESS MIGHT ARISE AS A RESULT OF NERVOUSNESS AND “HAPPINESS LIES NOT IN THE MERE POSSESSION OF MONEY” AND TO RECOGNIZE “THE FALSITY OF MATERIAL WEALTH AS THE STANDARD OF SUCCESS”, “THE ONLY THING WE HAVE TO FEAR, IS FEAR ITSELF.”

THE VERY RICH ARE NO HAPPIER THAN THE MERELY RICH,FOR THE OTHER 99 PERCENT OF US,HAPPINESS IS GREATLY ENHANCED BY A FEW QUAINT ASSETS,LIKE SHELTER,SUSTENANCE,AND SECURITY,THOSE WHO THINK THE MATERIAL IS IMMATERIAL HAVE PROBABLY NEVER STOOD IN A BREAD-LINE.

THAT HAPPINESS IS DOWN AND SADNESS IS UP,THAT WE ARE GETTING LESS SLEEP AND SMOKING MORE CIGARETTES,THAT DEPRESSION IS ON THE RISE.

SOMETHING THAT MAKES ME NERVOUS IS MEETING A NEW GROUP THAT I HAVE TO WORK WITH,I KEEP WONDERING: AM I WELCOME HERE? WHO KNOWS?!,I OFTEN HAVE NEW CLIENTS AND THAT’S NO PROBLEM.BUT WHEN I HAVE TO GO ON SITE AND FIT IN WITH A TEAM,I GET NERVOUS.EVEN THOUGH I LOVE DOING IT.WEIRD

THERE ARE DIFFERENT WAYS TO HANDLE NERVOUSNESS:

THE WAYS I “HANDLE” IT ARE MOSTLY TYPICAL -NAIL-BITING,THE RACING HEART, ETC. I DONT REALLY GET PAST THE NERVOUS UNTIL I FEEL LIKE I FIT IN,AND TO DO THAT,I NEED TO HAVE COLLEAGUES.

I CAN JOKE ARROUND WITH PEOPLE WHO APPRECIATE MY SENSE OF HUMOR.TO BE HONEST:THERE ARE PLACES WHERE MY SENSE OF HUMOR HAS NO EFFECT AND I’VE WORKED IN THEM.SO I SPEND MY FIRST FEW DAYS AT A NEW LOCATION TRYING MY HUMOR ON WITH PEOPLE,UNTIL I WORK OUT WHO GETS IT AND WHO DOESNT.ONCE THAT’S SETTLED,I CAN FORGET THE NERVOUSNESS BECAUSE I KNOW THAT,AT LEAST IN SOME AREAS,I BELONG.

AN UNCERTAIN FUTURE LEAVES US STRANDED IN AN UNHAPPY PRESENT WITH NOTHING TO DO BUT WAIT.IF I AM ASKED WHAT REALLY MAKES ME NERVOUS? I THINK I WILL TELL THEM THAT DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY DURING RUSH HOUR MAKES ME NERVOUS.ITS PRETTY MUCH TRUE AND ITS A REASONABLE ANSWER.

HOLIDAYS ARE VERY IMPORTANT OCCASIONS WHICH IS VERY IMPORTANT TO ALL, BUT THE BEAUTY OF IT ALL IS THE EXCITEMENT, EAGERNESS AND ANXIETY THAT COMES WITH IT, FROM BOTH YOUNG OLD. THERE ARE DIFFERENT KINDS OF HOLIDAYS BUT THE MOST IMPORTANT OF THEM ALL ARE: EASTER,THANKSGIVING AND CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS AND WHEN YOU THINK ABOUT WHAT IT ENTAILS, YOU REALLY GET EXCITED,ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU HAVE TO SEE FIREWORKS AND GO OUT TO WATCH MOVIES OR GO TO THE BEACH AND A LOT OF OTHER EXCITING PROGRAMS FOR THE HOLIDAY AND THE MOST EXCITING OF IT ALL, IS THE CAROLS AND MAKING FIREWORKS EVERYWHERE.

THANKSGIVING IS ANOTHER IMPORTANT HOLIDAY. EVERYBODY IS ALWAYS IN THE MOOD OF BUYING , ESPECIALLY THE EXCITEMENT OF BLACK FRIDAY WHEN YOU HAVE TO GO TO DIFFERENT STORES TO BUY THINGS THAT YOU WANT AT A VERY GOOD AND REASONABLE RATE,THERE ARE LOTS OF SITUATIONS WHERE PEOPLE GO TO THIS STORES TO QUEUE FOR HOURS FOR THE PURPOSE OF BUYING. EVERYWHERE IS BUSY AND THERE IS EATING AND DRINKING AND ITS ALL EXCITEMENT ALL THE WAY.

IT WAS A GREAT EXCITEMENT ON THAT FAITHFUL DAY AT THE EYO FESTIVAL PARADE IN LAGOS, . THE WORD “EYO’ REFERS TO THE COSTUMED DANCERS,KNOWN AS THE MASQUERADES,THAT COME OUT DURING THE FESTIVAL.

EYO IGA SASI PARADE

IT IS WIDELY BELIEVED THAT THE PLAY(PARADE)IS ONE OF THE MANIFESTATION OF THE CUSTOMARY AFRICAN REVELRY THAT SERVES AS THE FORERUNNER OF THE MODERN CARNIVAL.

IGA JUMP PERFORMANCE

IT WAS A VERY EXCITING PARADE THAT EVERYBODY WANTED TO HAVE A GLIMPSE OF THE CARNIVAL ON THAT PARTICULAR DAY,THE MAIN HIGHWAY IN THE HEART OF THE CITY(FROM THE END OF THE CARTER BRIDGE,TINUBU SQUARE) WAS CLOSED FOR THE PROGRAM ALLOWING FOR PROCESSION OF THE PROGRAM AT IGA IDUNGANRAN PALACE.

ACCORDING TO HISTORY THE FIRST PROCESSION AND PARADE IN LAGOS WAS ON THE 20TH FEBRUARY, 1854, TO COMMEMORATE THE LIFE OF THE OBA(KING) AFTER HEARING THE HISTORY AND WATCHING THE PROCESSION ,I WAS AS HAPPY AS EVER THAT I ATTENDED THE PARADE.

JUST SEEING ALL THOSE PEOPLE THAT CAME AND HOW BUSY IT WAS ,HOWEVER THAT WAS WHAT MY LAST PARADE WAS ALL ABOUT AND IT WAS ON THE 20TH OF FEBRUARY,WHAT ABOUT YOU,WHEN LAST DID YOU SEE A PARADE?

WARM AND FUN

IT WAS A LOVELY DAY OUT WHEN I WAS TAKEN OUT ON A WALK AND IT WAS SO LOVELY AND BEAUTIFUL AND THE WEATHER WAS HOT ,SUNNY AND LOVELY AND I WAS ON A LEACH RUNNING FORWARD AND BACKWARDS AND WE GOT INTO A GARDEN WHERE WE GO TO MOST TIMES AND I SAW A STRANGER COMING AND I STARTED GROWLING GREEEEEEE AND NEXT WAS WWWWOH WERRRR WOOH WWOOH AND I BARKED AND BARKED AND BARKED.

TWO DAYS AFTERWARDS, IT WAS SO WINDY AND COLD THAT NIGHT AND PREVIOUS DAY AND I WAS LEFT ALONE IN THE HOUSE ON MY WONDER CORNER BY THE WINDOW LOOKING AT PEOPLE PASSING BY ON THE SIDE WALK BY THE HOUSE AND THE TEMPERATURE IN THE APARTMENT WAS SO COLD THAT I STARTED SHIVERING AND SHAKING LIKE CHRISTMAS GOAT CAUGHT IN A COLD WINDY AND SNOWING DAY,DESPITE THE JACKET MY OWNER GAVE TO ME I WAS SHAKING SERIOUSLY.

I THOUGHT TO MYSELF (SHAKING) ,HOW I WISH I COULD BE A FASHION DESIGNER TO DESIGN A COOL AND WONDERFUL COLD JACKET FOR MYSELF WITH LOTS OF INSULATION AND FURS IN IT AND I WILL TRY TO MAKE IT LIKE THE HUMANS,INSTEAD OF PANTS WITH TWO LEGS I WILL MAKE IT FOUR AND WILL MAKE IT A SPECIAL ONE THAT COVERS THE WHOLE BODY.HAAA HAAAA HHAAAAA DOG IN FASHION!WOOOH WOOOH WOOOH

COLD IS WONDERFUL BUT STRANGE COS IT MAKES YOU WANT TO RUN ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE NOT IN A GOOD OUTFIT AS A DOG.

WHEN ITS HOT AND WARM TOO, ITS GOOD BUT I WILL PREFER THE HOT AND WARM TO THE COLD.

IF YOU WERE MY OWNER, WOULD YOU ADVICE A SPECIAL WINTER COAT OR JACKET THAT COVERS THE WHOLE BODY FOR A DOG? OR A HALF JACKET OR COAT?
